I’m proud to have completed my first Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s Society.

I’m also pleased to have exceeded my fundraising target. Many thanks to everyone who donated for my walk.

My hope is that the money I’ve raised, along with the thousands raised by other participants in Memory Walks UK-wide, will help to support people living with dementia and their families, boosting much needed local services like Singing for the Brain, Memory Cafes and befriending schemes.

Sadly my dad never had the opportunity to benefit from these services, but as an Alzheimer’s Society volunteer I know first-hand the power of these services in improving social interaction and enjoyment for people with dementia and their carers.
