#AlzChat "become a 'music detective' and build personalised playlists for the people you're caring for." @PlaylistforLife
@Annagoge shared a lovely video of a lady who used to play the church organ, fluttering her hands to some music as she lay in her bed. We intrinsically respond to music. Our brains connect with the rhythms, patterns & sounds of music. #AlzChat
Discover the power of music in dementia care – FREE Webinars: April – July 2025
Four-part webinar series to learn how to incorporate music into dementia care - for anyone supporting older persons or people living through the dementia experience.
#dementia
Meaningful music can help people living with dementia to live well.
We've supported a number of individuals and families to use personal playlists in their daily lives, each experiencing different but positive results.

Reflecting on last week and a fantastic day at The Alzheimer's & Dementia Show on 19 March:
⭐️Huge audience for my session on wellbeing
⭐️A fantastic &, at times, very moving panel discussion with Peter & Clive
⭐️Working with the lovely @NicolaP321
Loved seeing @mason4233 too!
@RakheeLb @IRememberBetter @nursesKidONE @AlzJoyThruTears @bethyb1886 @UnicornSpark @MyCareMatters @artsaging @THEVDOVault @helenfindlay @wecaredesign #AlzChat yes, whilst some families prefer a "we'll cross that bridge when we get to it" approach, there can be clear benefits to having sensitive conversations early on, to prevent carer breakdown, and ensure best possible ways to cope.
@IRememberBetter @creativitycare @nursesKidONE @AlzJoyThruTears @bethyb1886 @UnicornSpark @MyCareMatters @artsaging @THEVDOVault @helenfindlay @wecaredesign #AlzChat Sometimes it helps to explore professional services early => respite care, adult day programs, or counselling services. They can provide relief, ease workloads & offer expert support tailored to carer's needs. Taking this step allows carers to prioritise own wellbeing.
@RakheeLb @IRememberBetter @creativitycare @nursesKidONE @AlzJoyThruTears @bethyb1886 @UnicornSpark @MyCareMatters @artsaging @THEVDOVault @helenfindlay @wecaredesign Yes, there can be great relief in acknowledging how things are. Many ppl experience some sense of injustice, distress or anger about finding themselves in a role they did not choose (either as a person living with dementia or as a caregiver). It's a clarifying time. #AlzChat
@IRememberBetter @creativitycare @nursesKidONE @AlzJoyThruTears @bethyb1886 @UnicornSpark @MyCareMatters @artsaging @THEVDOVault @helenfindlay @wecaredesign #AlzChat Acknowledge & celebrate small +ve moments or achievements in daily caring to boost morale. Whether it's a smile, a moment of clarity, or successfully completing a task, recognising these victories can help create a sense of accomplishment & positivity amidst challenges💜
@IRememberBetter @creativitycare @nursesKidONE @AlzJoyThruTears @bethyb1886 @UnicornSpark @MyCareMatters @artsaging @THEVDOVault @helenfindlay @wecaredesign #AlzChat It is completely natural to feel moments of resentment when providing care around the clock. It is a demanding role, both physically and emotionally. Acknowledging these feelings without guilt is important. It is a natural response to the challenges of caregiving.
