In the UK there is a 1 in 7000 chance of families affected by dementia having access to an Admiral Nurse Service, funded by Dementia UK. Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia care professionals who work with family carers of all ages and backgrounds, tailoring support to their individual needs and challenges.
Our 2014 Time for a Cuppa Tea Party
Sadly we never had access to an Admiral Nurse during my father’s 19 years with vascular dementia, but I’m hugely supportive of their role and delighted to have hosted our second ‘Time for a Cuppa’ tea party following our 2013 party.
