I was delighted to be invited back as a speaker for today’s The Alzheimer’s and Dementia Show.
The description of my session, entitled ‘Wellbeing and Dementia – There’s no need to reinvent the wheel!’ was:
How do you take a simple wellbeing structure, created in 2008, and use it to enhance dementia support in 2025? Join former family carer turned dementia consultant, Beth Britton, as she explores her passion for enhancing wellbeing in an interactive session with practical takeaways that would be useful for anyone with a personal or professional interest in dementia.
I provided some printed copies of my wellbeing worksheet at the event, but if you’d like this emailed to you please contact me.
I also chaired a panel entitled: ‘Question Time – Learn about dementia from people living with dementia’ where I was joined by Peter Middleton and Clive Rogers, both of whom are Experts by Experience. It was a privilege to share the stage with Peter and Clive and listen to their experiences and answers to our audience’s questions. My thanks to Peter and Clive for joining me and sharing their expertise.
My final contribution to today’s event was to co-present a session with my MacIntyre colleague, Nicola Payne, entitled: ‘Being truly person centred – Lessons from learning disability support’.
The description for this session was:
‘Person centred’ is more than just a buzz word! In this interactive session, learn about tools and approaches from learning disability support that keep a person with dementia at the centre of their care, pick up your free takeaways, and find out about further information and educational resources and opportunities.
My thanks to Nigel and the conference team for these opportunities to speak and to the audiences who came to watch the sessions I was involved with.
